On May 13, 2016 the management of National Bureau of Expertises (NBE) received the delegation of US Department of State - Project Director of Europe and Asia of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of U.S. State Department Cari Enav, Representatives of U.S. Embassy to Armenia, manager of Armenian INL project Jack Anderson, project officers Maritsa Hovhannisyan, Karine Qeshabyan.

In the course of the business visit accompanied by NBE first Deputy Director G.Mikaelyan and Deputy Director for Science P.Voskanyan, the members of the delegation toured in the buildings and structures of NBE, visited different expert departments focusing on the technical equipment, methods and technologies implemented in these departments in conducting expertises.

During the visit it also noted that NBE employees has actively participated in webinars (online conferences) organized by American Society of Crime Lab Directors (ASCLD) since 2014.

The management especially mentioned the joint work implemented within the frame of INL program in the National Bureau of Expertises in the last 10 years. Currently more than 1000 forensic expertises in 29 expert types and 115 subtypes are carried out in the organization per year. The guests’ attention was drawn to the fact that NBE is the only expert organization in the Republic of Armenia with acting Board established by management of RA National Academy of Sciences.

Further the management of the National Bureau of Expertises and the members of the US delegation discussed in detail the possible directions of further productive cooperation of the Bureau on the fight against drugs and cooperation with law enforcement authorities (INL) and the National Bureau of Expertises, in particular, the parties discussed a number of topics of scientific and practical orientation in the field of criminology, forensic expertise and applied problems in criminology.

At the end of the meeting Cari Enav expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended to them and highly appreciated the essential achievements of the National Bureau of Expertises in the last 10 years.
