Seminar trainings in the National Bureau of Expertises in frames of INL Program

From March 9 to 13, 2015 in frames of INL program Michael V. Martinez, Forensic Scientist Supervisor specializing in the analysis and legal interpretation of Trace Evidence at Bexar County Criminal Investigation Laboratory in San Antonio, Texas, paid a working visit to the National Bureau of Expertise.

The aim of the visit was to hold seminar trainings for relevant staff connected with the use of ‘’FTIR Prestige 21’’ infrared Spectrophotometer and further development of obtained results. At the same time ‘’Niton’’ XRF analyzer software was updated and details of the new program relating to its use were introduced.

The seminar trainings consisting of theoretical and practical parts were attended by experts of Physical technical examinations and Chemical expertises, Firearm expertises, Arson and Explosives  expertises departments of the organization.

During the seminar trainings were discussed questions such as the technical capabilities of the spectrophotometer, its efficiency and use as well as further re-equipment and modernization of the software capabilities of the device, which will expand the scope of its application.

At the end of the seminar the participants were given certificates on operating the obtained capabilities of ‘’FTIR Prestige 21’’ infrared Spectrophotometer and ’Niton’’ XRF analyzer.
