Education: Faculty of Technical Cybernetics of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute.
USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, Faculty of Law.
Specialization: Radio-engineer, lawyer.
Work experience: since 1966.
Work experience as an expert: since 2008.
Main directions of the department’s expert activities are as follows:

04-01: Expertise of voice and oral speech;
04-02: Expertise of the environment, conditions, materials and traces of audio records;
04-03: Expertise of the conditions, means, materials and traces of video records.
Type: Photo-technical and portrait.

Subtypes of expertises:
05-01: Expertise of photographs (photo images) and its productive technical means;
05-02: Expertise of photograph materials;
05-03: Human identification by photographs (photo images).
Main activities of the department are as follows:
- Photo-technical and portrait expertise:
Quality improvement of photo images (photographs), automated portrait identification (the result bears advisory nature and may be used as a basis for forensic habitoscopic and forensic anthropological expertises). - Video record expertise:
Determination of video type facilities, examination of video record to find out mounting or computer evaluating traces; numeration of the video records, separation of concrete video image, improvement of quality and examination. - Audio record expertise:
Examination of audio record to find out mounting or computer evaluating traces; improving the quality of the audio record (noise cleaning for deciphering); individual voice identification, record deciphering for determination the circumstances of the case.
The tasks mentioned above are divided into two groups:
Identification tasks, when coincident and different features of investigative objects are being determined (photo-portrait and audio identification);
Tasks of investigative nature, when production and evaluation forms, used technical means of investigative object are being determined, realizing deciphering of records (in the case of audio records), improvement (in the case of audio, video records and portrait examination), and diagnostic expertise (definition of geometrical sizes of the objects and subjects depicted on photo/video image, detection of acoustic environment).
