RA NAS “National bureau of expertises” SNPO‘s Educational department realizes the following activity:
Organization of educational trainings for requalification of those competent bodies /investigation bureau and other structures' employees /, who are under an obligation to get initial data and have commission to nominate expertises.
According to the state agreements "On having supplementary educational teaching service" signed in March of 2005, between the General Prosecutors’ office and RA NAS "National Bureau of Expertises" a supplementary educational teaching program should be realized for the investigation and other bodies’ employees. In the frame of this agreement since 2005 to 2011 during the first term about 1627 employees of different bodies /Public Prosecutors’ Office (RA), Police, Ministry of Defense /Investigating department/, State Tax service (RA), State Customs Committee (RA), Rescue Service of MTA (RA), Military Police of MOD (RA) and other competent bodies/ have already taken a quarterly course of supplementary professional qualification. During those courses competent bodies’ employees got acquainted with the newest technologies of expertises and the possibilities of different expertises, aiming to upgrade investigation's quality.
Duration of the training is two weeks (10 working days); 8 academic hours per day. At the beginning of the courses the attendants are provided with instructions of correspondent topics, resume-programs approved in the sessions of the Scientific Council RA NAS National Bureau of Expertises (23 May 2008, 30 June 2009, 29 June 2010 and 24 December 2010), didactic materials, necessary stationary and accessories, also they can be supplied with the copies of those materials. The lessons are applied with up-to-date equipments / slide projection apparatus/.
The viewers are given an opportunity for using the library of "National bureau of Expertises". In order to organize further educational process more efficiently, after the training courses opinions and proposals of attendees are reviewed and the results are presented to the management. The viewers take an oral exam at the end of the training, afterwards they get certificates.
Organization of practical training for the law faculty students of higher educational institutions.
RA NAS "National Bureau of Expertises" SNPO’s Educational department has organized a practical training since 2007 to 2011 /subject: “Criminalistics” and “Forensic Expertises” for 166 students of institutes of higher education’s law faculties. Throughout the practice the students were given a chance to explore the work of different expertise departments, got acquainted with methods of expertises and the way of making conclusions, as well as participated in laboratory expertises.
Expertise specialists' requalification and verification determined by RA legislation.
Educational department realizes individual training and requalification on agreement basis. Project-proposal, consisting of theoretical and practical phases, is arranged for each student. To make upgraded activities realized in our organization, working out of methods have been implemented for our experts. The regulations of highly developed European countries and Russian Federation have also been taken into consideration during the processing. After getting re-qualification, students are interviewed and take a test. The student gets requalification certificate after being interviewed and passing the test.

2007
- The chief of Computer Expertise Examination Department Mr.T.Brigalyan and an expert from the same department Mr.H.Ghazaryan have participated in requalification courses held in USA, Portland from 7 to 14 April, 2007.
- Director Mr. Artashes Javadyan has participated in European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) Annual Meeting, held in the capital of Latvia–Riga from 29 May to 2 June, 2007. Mr.Javadyan has participated in scientific discussions (exchange of experience) in State Forensic Expertise Service, held in the capital of Great Britain–London from 2 to 11 June, 2007.
- Chief of Traceological Expertise Department Mr. Kh.Hakobyan and Firearms Expertise Department’s expert Mr. K.Hambardzumov have participated in educational courses, in the frame of INL collaboration project, organized by D.Christianson and R.Grzibovski, held in the capital of Poland, Warsaw from 21 to 28 July, 2007.
- Deputy Director on Expertises Issues Mr. Aram Gahnapetyan has participated in medical experts' courses, in the frame of INL collaboration project in US, state Maryland, Rockville, arranged by Military Pathological Institute, American Pathological Register and Military Medical Expert System from 3 to 9 November, 2007.
2008
- The chief of Traceiological Expertise Examination Department Mr. Kh Hakobyan and the expert of Firearms Expertise Examination Department Mr. K. Hambardzumov have participated in ballistics courses in Tbilisi, organized by San Francisco Expertise Laboratory’s Alcohol, Tobacco and Ballistics Expertise Bureau, the representative Mr. Richard Grzibovski from 5 to 13 February, 2008.
- Deputy Director on Scientific and Educational Issues Mr. Yuri Avetisyan has participated in an international seminar in the frame of TAEX project, held in Riga, and organized by Latvia State Bureau of Forensic Expertises. The theme of the seminar was "Competent and skilled forensic experts –a milestone to ensure quality of forensic expertise" from 11 to 14 March, 2008.
- Chief of the Cultural Values Expertise Examination Department Mr. E. Avanesov and Chief of Material-Scientific Expertise Examination Department Mr. S. Hakobyan were trained on scientific-technical methodologies related to research of cultural values at the Expertise Examination Department of Hermitage/St. Petersburg, RF from 18 March to 1 April, 2008.
- Director Mr. Artashes Javadyan participated in the 36th Annual Conference of the Managers of the American Criminal-Expertise Examination Laboratories, held on 14-20 September, 2008 in Salt Lake City/US.
- Deputy Director on Scientific and Educational Issues Mr. Y. Avetisyan and Expert of Psychological Expertise Department Mr. D. Amiryan participated in the qualification improvement (training) courses on organization and implementation of intellectual property and linguistic researches at the Institute of Criminalistics (Moscow) of the Federal Service of Security of the Russian Federation from 10 to 21 November, 2008.
- Chief of Psychological Expertise Department Miss M. Petrosyan and Chief of Department of Handwriting, Intellectual Property and Documentation Expertise Mrs. M. Karapetyan participated in the improvement (training) courses of written speech examination, speech outcomes examination and human psychology and psychophysiology examination held at the Qualification Improvement Institute (Moscow) of the Forensic Examination Federal Center of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation from 17 to 28 November, 2008.
- Mr. Aram Gahnapetyan, Deputy Director on Expertises Issues and Expert of Food Expertise Examination Department Mr. Suren Harutunyan participated in the regional seminar organized for forensic examination and criminal-forensic examination employees within the frames of “Southern Caucuses Drugs Counteract Program-V” in Tbilisi from 12 to 15 November, 2008, and during which A.Gahnapetyan made a speech on behalf of the delegation of the Republic of Armenia.
2009
- Deputy Director of Scientific and Educational Issues Mr. Yuri Avetisyan participated in the training study tour organized for criminal examiners and forensic experts in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Hague), Germany (Düsseldorf) and Austria (Vienna), funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) within the frames of Phase V of “Southern Caucuses Drugs Counteract Program” (SCDCP) from 22 to 27 February, 2009.
- Chief of Biological Traces Expertises Examination Division of the Medical and Biological Expertise Examination Department Mrs. A. Matevosyan has passed the study course on the methods of traditional examination of objects with the biological origin at the Criminal Expertise examination Center (Moscow) at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation from 15 to 30 March and 15 to 26 June, 2009.
- Deputy Director of Scientific and Educational Issues Mr. Yuri Avetisyan participated in the seminar-workshop organized within the frames of “Southern Caucuses Drugs Counteract Program: Phase V” by the UN Armenian Office in Tsaghkadzor (Armenia) on 20-22 May, 2009.
- Chief of Arson and Explosives Expertises Department Mr. D. Melkumyan and Expert of the Documentation Expertise Division of the Handwriting, Author’s and Questioned Documents Expertises Department Mr. H. Gharibyan participated in the training course on “Basic Skills of Examination of Fire/Arson” organized by the experts of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Bureau of the US Department of Justice in Tbilisi (Republic of Georgia) from 7 to 20 June, 2009.
- From 14 to 27 June, 2009 Anahit Matevosyan passed traineeship on cytological methods of researching objects of biological origin in the Forensic expertise centre at the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation.
- On 24-26 June, 2009 within the framework of “South Caucasus Anti-Drug Programme-V” deputy director on science and education Yuri Avetisyan participated in a seminar held in Tsaghkadzor with the subject “Legal regulation of the organization of struggle against drug addiction and illegal circulation of drugs in the Republic of Armenia” organized for law enforcement officials and forensic experts.
2010
- In June, 2010 director Artashes Javadyan participated in the international seminar organized by International Scientific-Technical Center НИЯУ “МИФИ” devoted to modern methods and means applied during the research and identification of criminalistic objects within the framework of the targeted initiatives aimed at the maintenance of the legal order.
- From 13 to 17 September, 2010 head of computer-technical expertises department Kh. Harutyunyan participated in the annual scientific conference organized by the working group of “Forensic Information Technologies” (FIT Working Group) of the “European Network of Forensic Science Institutes” (ENFSI) in Moscow.
- From 5 to 9 October, 2010 director of the National Bureau of Expertises Artashes Javadyan participated in the 16th International Forensic Science Symposium at the INTERPOL General Secretariat in Lyon, France.
- From 17 to 29 October, 2010 acting expert of constructing-technical expertises department A. Grigoryan and acting expert of economic and accounting expertises department E. Zadoyan participated in working and improvement (training) courses in the Russian Federal Centre of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Justice.
